"I'm aware of it," HC Rod Marinelli said. "I talked to the player. We'll let the legal courts take care of the process." Kennedy was unavailable for comment. Indianapolis Colts 10/07/2006 9:33 AMThe Indianapolis Star reports Colts owner Jim Irsay said he will not pay DT Corey Simon the $1.9 million balance of his 2006 base salary and could shed no more light on the "mystery" illness that will force the veteran defensive tackle to miss the remainder of the season. Simon was placed on the NFL's non-football illness/injury list Thursday, which does not require the team to pay him. He has received four game checks worth a total of about $600,000 of the $2.5 million he would have earned this season, Irsay said. In all, Simon has received more than $14 million in bonuses and base salary from the five-year, $30 million contract he signed when he joined the Colts before last season. Jacksonville Jaguars 10/07/2006 9:30 AMThe Florida Times-Union reports because of WR Matt Jones' groin injury, fourth-year WR Cortez Hankton can expect to see more action this week against the Jets. In 36 games, Hankton has caught 29 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns. "With any week, regardless if I expect to play or not play, I try to prepare the same," Hankton said. "So when I do get the opportunity to play, I'll be ready. That's what it's all about, preparation and just knowing what to do so you can go out there and play fast." Through training camp and the preseason, Hankton impressed with sure hands and a knack for getting open, which gives the Jaguars confidence about plugging him into the lineup.Read more
Cincinnati Bengals 10/06/2006 2:17 PMThe Cincinnati Bengals have been notified by the NFL that WR Chris Henry has been suspended without pay for the teamâs next two games, for violating the NFLâs Personal Conduct and Substance Abuse policies. Henry also will be fined $20,000. Under league policy, Henry will be held out of practices as well as Games 5-6, but he will be allowed to attend meetings and to work out individually at team facilities. Games 5-6 are Oct. 15 at Tampa Bay and Oct. 22 vs. Carolina. The Bengals have a bye on this weekendâs NFL schedule. Henry will be eligible to rejoin the Bengalsâ active roster on Mon., Oct. 23. During the suspension, he will be placed on Reserve/Suspended by Commissioner, and will not count against the teamâs 53-player roster limit. Individual teams are not involved in the administration of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy, and all requests for comment regarding the policy should be directed to the NFL Communications Office.Read more
