Wallace fined $7,500 for hit on Simms
Tampa Bay Buccaneers09/30/2006 10:38 AM The Tampa Tribune reports the NFL has fined Carolina Panthers DE Al Wallace $7,500 for a hit on Bucs QB Chris Simms in Tampa Bay's 26-24 loss last Sunday. There was no penalty on the play, but after reviewing the game tape, the league ruled Wallace's hit in the fourth quarter was unnecessary roughness. Read more
Bears place Currie on IR

The Bears placed the wide receiver on injured reserve Friday with an undisclosed foot issue, a move that could signal the beginning of the end for him here. Currie, a fifth-round pick in 2005, simply cannot stay on the field, and the injuries don't seem to have anything to do with football. Read more
