Tampa Bay Buccaneers 09/30/2006 10:38 AMThe Tampa Tribune reports the NFL has fined Carolina Panthers DE Al Wallace $7,500 for a hit on Bucs QB Chris Simms in Tampa Bay's 26-24 loss last Sunday. There was no penalty on the play, but after reviewing the game tape, the league ruled Wallace's hit in the fourth quarter was unnecessary roughness.Read more

The Bears placed the wide receiver on injured reserve Friday with an undisclosed foot issue, a move that could signal the beginning of the end for him here.
