Eagles promote Roper

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have promoted LB Dedrick Roper from the practice squad. Originally acquired by Philadelphia off of Pittsburgh’s practice squad in 2005, Roper (6-2, 245) played in six games for the Eagles last season and notched 11 special teams tackles. The Milipitas, CA, native was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Steelers in 2004 out of Division II Northwood University. To make room on the roster, the Eagles released CB Dustin Fox. Jones tweaks hamstring

The Florida Times-Union reports already hampered by a groin injury, WR Matt Jones hurt his hamstring against the Redskins and missed most of the second half. HC Jack Del Rio is considering the possibility of resting some of the Jaguars injured players this week against the Jets. Read more

Bengals sign Reuber, release Takavitz

The Cincinnati Bengals have signed free agent OT Alan Reuber (6-6, 307), a second-year NFL player from Texas A&M. Reuber first entered the NFL as a college free agent with Minnesota in 2004. He played in three games for Arizona in ’04 and spent most of last season on the Arizona practice squad. The team also released OG Kyle Takavitz, first-year player from the University of Cincinnati. Takavitz played in all four of this year’s preseason games and had been on the practice squad since Sept. 20. Read more

Ravens sign Ndukwe

The Baltimore Sun reports with OG Edwin Mulitalo being moved to injured reserve after successful surgery to repair his torn triceps, the Ravens signed OG Ikechuku Ndukwe off the Washington Redskins' practice squad. Ndukwe is a 6-foot-4, 338-pound guard in his second year out of Northwestern. Read more
