New Orleans Saints 03/10/2008 10:15 PMAP reports TE Eric Johnson agreed to a one-year contract to return to the New Orleans Saints on Monday.Johnson's agent, Steve Baker, confirmed the length of the agreement but did not disclose financial terms. "Eric feels that the Saints' offense is a perfect fit for him," Baker said. Johnson played 14 games for New Orleans last season, starting 12, and caught 48 passes for 378 yards and two touchdowns. He was 11th in catches among NFL tight ends. Johnson played receiver at Yale before switching to tight end in the NFL and led San Francisco in receiving yards in 2004, when he had 82 catches for 825 yards, including a pair of touchdowns.Read more
Detroit Lions 03/10/2008 10:07 PMESPN’s John Clayton reports after losing a bidding war for halfback Julius Jones, the Detroit Lions went back to their own roster and re-signed RB Tatum Bell. Bell, 26, agreed to a one-year, $1.6 million deal to stay with the Lions. He came to the Lions last season from the Broncos in a trade that included OT George Foster. Foster agreed to a one-year, $1.1 million deal over the weekend.Read more

The Titans have agreed to a four-year deal with OG Jake Scott, who played the past four seasons for the Indianapolis Colts. St. Louis Rams 03/10/2008 9:57 PMESPN’s John Clayton reports QB Trent Green's return to the St. Louis Rams was a profitable one.He agreed to a three-year, $8.9 million deal that included a $2.1 million signing bonus and a $900,000 roster bonus on Monday. With a $1 million base salary, Green will make $4 million in 2008. Green, who ended last season on injured reserve after his second concussion in 13 months, was cleared to play weeks ago and had several teams, including the New Orleans Saints, looking at him as a backup quarterback. Marc Bulger will be the starter in St. Louis, but he will be backed by a quarterback who is one of the most experienced in football.Read more
