Seattle wide receiver to visit Panthers

The Charlotte Observer reports the Panthers will receive a visit from Seattle free agent WR D.J. Hackett Friday, a league source said today. "His goal is to play for a playoff contender and he thinks the Panthers will be that with their quarterback (Jake Delhomme) healthy again," the source said. "And he really thinks Charlotte is a nice area." Hackett is visiting Washington today and will also visit Tampa Bay. Read more

Ty Law to make visit today

The Star-Ledger reports veteran CB Ty Law, who had 10 interceptions for the Jets in 2005, could have an encore performance. He is scheduled to visit the team today, according to the NFL Network. Law, 34, played the past two seasons in Kansas City, which recently released him. Law spent 10 seasons in New England and played under Jets coach Eric Mangini. He is also a mentor to Jets second-year CB Darrelle Revis. The pair are from Aliquippa, Pa., and are good friends. Read more
