Bengals sign Blackstock

The Cincinnati Bengals today signed free agent LB Darryl Blackstock to a one-year contract. Blackstock (6-3, 244; Virginia) is a fourth-year NFL player in 2008. He was a third-round draft choice (95th overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in 2005 and played the last three seasons for Arizona, seeing action in 46 games with two starts. He had three sacks among his 11 tackles on defense last season, as he played in every game for the second consecutive year. Read more

49ers sign WR Bryant Johnson from Cardinals

ESPN’s Michael Smith reports WR Bryant Johnson has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers, a source told ESPN.com. Johnson, an unrestricted free agent, was a first-round pick (17th overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in 2003, and had spent his entire career with the Cardinals. Last season, he had 46 receptions for 528 yards and two touchdowns. Read more

Titans agree to terms with McCareins

The Nashville Tennessean reports the Titans have agreed to terms with WR Justin McCareins, according to the player's agent. McCareins, a 2001 draft pick by the Titans who played the past four seasons with the Jets, visited Baptist Sports Park last week, the same day the team signed DE Jevon Kearse. "He's happy to be a Titan again,'' agent Cliff Brady said. McCareins' deal is for one year, and it includes a base salary of $730,000. The total package is believed to be worth around $1 million.
