Hall, Raiders still negotiating

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Falcons' CB DeAngelo Hall and Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis spent much of Wednesday afternoon at Raiders headquarters meeting and negotiating a contract that could lead to Hall being traded to Oakland for two draft picks. The Falcons and Raiders have agreed on the trade, but it won't be consummated until Hall and Oakland can come to terms on a long-term deal that their representatives have been discussing for more than a week. Leslie Frazier gets promotion, extension

The Pioneer Press reports Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier didn't go one-and-done like his predecessor Mike Tomlin, who left after one season to become head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. And after a solid debut season in Minnesota, Frazier was rewarded with an extension through 2009 and the added title of assistant head coach, Vikings head coach Brad Childress announced Wednesday. Steelers' Wilson charged with striking ex-girlfriend

The Post-Gazette reports Pittsburgh Steelers WR Cedrick Wilson was arrested last night for hitting his former girlfriend who was involved in a lengthy armed standoff at his home in January, police said. At around 8 last night, Mr. Wilson approached 26-year-old Lindsey Paulat, of Fawn, at Patron's Restaurant near Route 910 and Perry Highway in Pine, police said. He then pushed Ms. Paulet, the mother of his 16-month-old daughter, and punched her in the face when she turned around, according to a criminal complaint charging Mr. Wilson. Read more

Browns could take a chance on RB Boyd

BigCProfootball.com reports the Cleveland Browns are expected to address the running back position in the upcoming NFL draft and will be searching for a suitable backup for RB Jamal Lewis. The team would like to provide some competition at the backup position behind Lewis and possibly find his future replacement. With the Browns not having a selection until the fourth-round this will make it difficult for the team to get their hands on one of the more highly touted running backs entering the draft. However, the team could have their eyes on a diamond in the rough in the later rounds, South Carolina RB Cory Boyd. Read more
