Minnesota Vikings 03/21/2008 8:22 AMThe Pioneer Press reports the Vikings added much-needed depth at safety by signing former Seattle Seahawks starter Michael Boulware to a one-year deal Thursday. Although he has been slowed by injuries the past two seasons, Boulware said he is 100 percent healthy. "This year, I'm really excited because I get a full offseason to train," said Boulware, who had a knee injury at the end of the 2005 season and a shoulder injury last season while he was with the Houston Texans.Read more
Pittsburgh Steelers 03/21/2008 8:01 AMThe Post-Gazette reports a day that started with the release of Steelers WR Cedrick Wilson after he was charged with assaulting his former girlfriend Wednesday night ended yesterday amid a series of statements by team chairman Dan Rooney to address what appeared to be a double standard in dealing with players involved in off-field domestic disputes. Mr. Wilson became the second player in 11 days to be charged in a domestic dispute with a woman. On March 8, Pro Bowl LB James Harrison also was charged in an incident involving his girlfriend. Cincinnati Bengals 03/20/2008 4:02 PMThe Cincinnati Bengals have signed free agent LB Brandon Johnson to a one-year contract. Johnson (6-5, 224; Louisville) is a third-year NFL player in 2008. He was a fifth-round draft choice of Arizona in 2006 and played the last two seasons for the Cardinals, seeing action in nine games. He has eight career special teams tackles, including six last season, when he saw action in six games.Read more
