Titans agree to swap Pacman to Dallas

AP reports the Tennessee Titans finally washed their hands of suspended CB Adam “Pacman” Jones on Wednesday, agreeing in principle to trade him to the Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple confirmed the teams had an agreement, but no terms had been filed with the NFL office, which already had closed for the day. The Titans also confirmed the deal, adding that terms had to be finalized. The team had no further comment beyond a two-sentence e-mail. Dalrymple declined to discuss specifics of the trade. Cardinals turned down Redskins' offer for Boldin

ESPN.com reports the Arizona Cardinals have no interest in dealing WR Anquan Boldin, despite trade inquiries from other teams and a trade request by Boldin's agent. "We're not interested in trading Anquan," general manager Rod Graves said, according to The Arizona Republic. "That's the short of it." ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported that the Cardinals have declined a trade offer from the Washington Redskins for the five-year veteran. The Redskins also unsuccessfully sought to trade for disgruntled Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson. The Philadelphia Eagles also have inquired about Boldin and are dangling CB Lito Sheppard as part of a deal. The Cards are saying no for now. Read more

Dolphins looking to trade Taylor for picks

CBSSports.com reports the Miami Dolphins are busy. While they were working to finalize a five-year contract with first-round draft pick OT Jake Long, they were operating behind the scenes to strike a deal with another team for DE Jason Taylor. Two clubs whom the Dolphins contacted confirmed Tuesday that Miami is shopping Taylor, looking for a mid-to-low first-round draft pick in return. Read more

Seahawks release former league MVP Alexander

ESPN’s John Clayton reports RB Shaun Alexander was released by the Seattle Seahawks Tuesday. Seahawks president Tim Ruskell said Tuesday that Alexander was released unconditionally after passing a physical. Before his release, Alexander had to take a procedural physical in order to facilitate the termination of his contract. He took that physical Tuesday afternoon. He's recovering from wrist surgery and has been waiting for his left wrist to heal before he can start visiting teams that might be interested in signing him. Alexander leaves Seattle on good terms after being the team's all-time leading rusher. Two years of injuries plus the fact he's 30 years old led to his exit. Read more
