Seattle Seahawks 05/14/2008 9:48 PMThe Seattle Times reports Seahawks LB Lofa Tatupu was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Cleveland Browns 05/14/2008 9:46 PMAP reports TE Kellen Winslow wouldn't be practicing anyway, but the star tight end's absence from the Cleveland Browns' organized team activities this week is notable. Unlike mini-camps, the three weeks of OTAs are not mandatory. However, players usually report so they can take part in conditioning drills and team meetings or rehab injuries. Winslow, who underwent offseason knee surgery and his recovering in San Diego, has made it clear he wants the Browns to redo his contract.Read more
Baltimore Ravens 05/14/2008 5:11 PMAP reports the Baltimore Ravens have reached a compromise with franchise player Terrell Suggs, his agent said. The former Arizona State and Chandler Hamilton High star filed a grievance against the team in March after the Ravens tagged him with the one-year, $8.065 million linebacker tag. He was seeking to be paid the defensive end franchise designation of $8,879,000. Now, Suggs will be paid a one-year tender worth nearly $8.5 million as a hybrid defensive end/linebacker, according to his agent, Gary Wichard. The compromise was prompted by a suggestion from Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome to jump-start stalled negotiations.Read more
Chicago Bears 05/14/2008 5:08 PMThe Chicago Sun-Times reports LB Brian Urlacher is threatening to retire again. Actually, Urlacher apparently was joking Monday when he brought up the subject with Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports while talking about media reaction to his demand for a contract extension. ''They're killing me in Chicago,'' Urlacher said. ''I think I should just go ahead and retire.'' It wasn't so funny last month when an incensed Urlacher accused the Chicago Sun-Times of writing a gossip column when it revealed that Urlacher's representatives had asked for a trade and threatened he would retire because of injury -- and thus not have to pay back any signing bonus from his $56.65 million deal -- in an effort to get more money from the Bears.Read more
