49ers sign seventh-round pick Grant

BigCProfootball.com reports the San Francisco 49ers have signed seventh-round draft pick LB Larry Grant to a 4-year contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Larry is very excited about officially becoming a 49er. He was probably ready to sign this deal on draft day when his hometown team called his name. He’s now going to show the 49er fans what a steal they got in the draft,” agent Nate Haber said.
The 6-foot-1, 232-pound Grant played in the shadow of linebackers Marcus Freeman and James Laurinaitis while playing at Ohio State, but didn’t go unnoticed with the San Francisco 49ers. The strong-side backer finished the season fifth on the team in tackles with 51 and tied for second in sacks with five for the Buckeyes. Grant a strong player with good speed and outstanding athletic ability. The 49ers coaching staff loves his versatility and work ethic. Grant is the second draft pick to come to terms with the club. The Colts placed him on injured reserve days later. Which was when Hall said he began really learning. He said he learned about what to do on the field. He said he learned about how the NFL works off it.
