Green Bay Packers
07/29/2008 10:38 AM
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports frustration began to set in Monday at the headquarters of the Green Bay Packers with the realization that in all probability there will be no rapid resolution to their standoff with QB Brett Favre. The Packers have been calling all over the National Football League trying to acquire something of value for the Hall of Fame quarterback, whom they no longer want. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Indianapolis Star reports DT Quinn Pitcock, expected to play a significant role in the defensive tackle rotation, had not reported to camp as of late Monday. The 2007 third-round draft pick out of Ohio State is on the "reserve/did not report'' list. "He's going through some personal things,'' coach Tony Dungy said. "He's going to let us know when he can be back.'' Pitcock, 24, could not be reached for comment. Neither Dungy nor Pitcock's agent, Brad Leshnock, chose to address speculation on an NFL-related Web site that Pitcock has lost the desire to play. Dungy said Pitcock participated in the offseason conditioning program without issue. Read more
