McMichael done for the season

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports TE Randy McMichael, who broke a bone in his lower right leg Sept. 28 vs. Buffalo, has been placed on injured reserve, meaning that his season is over. McMichael was the Rams’ third-leading receiver, with 11 catches for 139 yards. Joe Klopfenstein replaces him in the starting lineup. Daniel Fells, a 6-foot-4, 252-pound tight end, takes McMichael’s place on the roster. Read more

Packers QB Rodgers to sit until Thursday

AP reports Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not see the practice field until Thursday at the earliest. Packers coach Mike McCarthy announced Monday that while Rodgers is improving, he will treat his quarterback’s sprained right shoulder with caution. “I’m not going to practice him Wednesday, and we’re going to stay in the rehab,” McCarthy said. “Then we’re looking at potentially limited Thursday was the conversation we had with the doctors, and we’ll take it from there.” Rodgers hurt the shoulder in a 30-21 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 28. The Star-Ledger reports Tom Coughlin and Plaxico Burress had a sit-down this morning. The details are sketchy, as Coughlin remained true to his stance of not discussing private meetings with players. But Coughlin indicated Burress arrived focused and prepared to get back to work. "It all appears he's ready to go," Coughlin said during a conference call minutes ago. Coughlin said Burress will likely retain his starting job, though he admitted he hadn't given much thought to it. "I would say right now, yes," Coughlin said. Read more

Bruce still gettin' it done

The San Francisco Chronicle reports WR Isaac Bruce had his 13th game with at least two touchdowns when he scored on 6- and 5-yard passes from O'Sullivan. That gives Bruce 88 for his career, tying him with Don Maynard for ninth on the NFL career list. Read more
