Cleveland Browns 10/29/2008 7:09 PMESPN's James Walker reports Cleveland Browns receiver Joe Jurevicius will be out for the remainder of the 2008 season, a league source confirmed Wednesday. Browns coach Romeo Crennel said during his weekly news conference that the team is preparing to make an announcement on Jurevicius soon, and the coach hinted that it was "generally not good." The Browns have until Tuesday to take Jurevicius off the physically-unable-to-perform list or deactivate him for the season. Jurevicius had routine knee surgery in the offseason but contracted a staph infection that set back his timetable to return. Indianapolis Colts 10/29/2008 7:07 PMAP reports injured Indianapolis Colts S Bob Sanders, RB Joseph Addai and CB Kelvin Hayden all practiced Wednesday. They could be healthy enough to play Sunday against archrival New England. "I expect that they will all be out there [Wednesday], and if all goes well, I expect them to play Sunday," coach Tony Dungy said before practice. None of the three was listed on the team's practice report, meaning the three players participated in all drills.Read more
San Diego Chargers 10/28/2008 4:54 PMAP reports defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell has been fired by the San Diego Chargers and replaced with inside linebackers coach Ron Rivera. Cottrell’s dismissal comes two days after the Chargers lost to Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, 37-32 in London. Brees threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns. The Chargers have the worst pass defense in the NFL. The Chargers have lost three of four after entering the season as a Super Bowl favorite.Read more
Cincinnati Bengals 10/28/2008 4:44 PMThe Cincinnati Bengals have signed free agent S John Busing, a third-year NFL player from Miami (Ohio). Busing (6-2, 221) played in 19 games for Cincinnati over 2006-07, logging 18 special teams tackles and three tackles on defense. He was with the Bengals in the ’08 preseason, posting two tackles on defense and two on special teams over three games. He was waived in final roster cuts on Aug. 30.Read more
