New Orleans Saints 11/06/2008 9:04 AMThe Times-Picayune reports Saints RB Reggie Bush doesn't expect to play Sunday at Atlanta, but he said he will "definitely" be back in time for next week's game at Kansas City. "That's how good I feel right now," said Bush, who had surgery to repair torn meniscus in his left knee less than three weeks ago. "Definitely with another week I'll feel 100 percent ready to go." Bush ran outdoors for the first time Wednesday and had previously been running in a pool. The original prognosis for his recovery was three to four weeks. He injured the knee during the Saints' Oct. 19 loss at Carolina and had surgery the next day.Read more

After all, he is just one piece of the puzzle. But after missing the past three games with a broken right pinkie, Romo threw and took snaps in practice Wednesday and his return beginning with the Nov. 16 game against Washington is the basis for any hopes the Cowboys have of salvaging their playoff hopes.Romo was injured in an Oct. 12 loss to Arizona and tried to play the next week against the St. Louis Rams before realizing in pregame warm-ups that he couldn’t grip the ball.Read more
Pittsburgh Steelers 11/06/2008 8:54 AMThe Post-Gazette reports QB Ben Roethlisberger emerged from a meeting with Steelers coach Mike Tomlin yesterday and promised everyone will see an improved quarterback and offense when he is able to resume playing. Tomlin would not say what transpired between him and Roethlisberger at their morning meeting, but it appeared to have an effect on his quarterback. "You know what? I have played sub-par football to date," Roethlisberger said. "It's time for that to change and it will change. I think as my performance changes, I think you'll see some changes in the offense because we'll be clicking more, we'll be making more completions and things will happen nice."Read more
Oakland Raiders 11/06/2008 8:50 AMAP reports the Oakland Raiders’ decision to waive CB DeAngelo Hall just eight games after signing him to a $70 million contract brought surprised reactions from his teammates who now wonder even more about the future of the franchise. “I’ve never been in a situation where you cut one of the best players,” said safety Gibril Wilson, another of the team’s offseason acquisitions. “That’s strange to me. It’s almost like we’re throwing in the towel.” The Raiders waived Hall on Wednesday, bringing a disappointing end to a short tenure in Oakland. The Raiders sent a second-round draft pick in 2008 and a fifth-rounder next season to Atlanta in March to acquire Hall, who immediately was given a seven-year contract.Read more
