Bill Polian: I’d give Tony Romo 5-year extension

The Dallas Morning News reports one of the most successful general managers in NFL history says regardless of how the Cowboys finish this season, Tony Romo should remain their quarterback of the future. Asked Friday if Romo would draw much interest on the open market, former Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts executive Bill Polian said “without question” there would be “great interest” in Romo. The Kansas City Star reports Chiefs offensive coordinator Brian Daboll didn’t have to spend much time this week trying to figure out what new starting quarterback Brady Quinn does and doesn’t do well. Quinn started nine games with Daboll as the coordinator in 2009 when the two were together with the Browns. 
AP reports linebacker Scott Fujita hopes his last appearance on an NFL playing field won't be this Sunday for the Cleveland Browns. He would prefer to make another game-saving tackle, clutch interception or crowd-inspiring sack — instead of merely being part of the pregame coin toss. 
The Star-Telegram reports because of injuries to others, Dallas Cowboys running back Phillip Tanner has taken plenty of practice snaps this week with the first-team offense. The second-year back considers himself ready, if needed, to make his first NFL start Sunday against the New York Giants.
