Chicago Bears 09/14/2006 8:46 AMThe Chicago Sun-Times reports the Big Easy was not so simple for DE Michael Haynes. The Bears' former first-round pick, the 14th player chosen in 2003, was released by the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday after they told him he is not healthy enough to suit up. Haynes injured his back in training camp and said it was not properly healed when the Bears released him Sept. 2, two days after he appeared in the final preseason game. He intends to file a grievance against the team. The Saints claimed Haynes on waivers, and he was excited about a situation in which he could work in a rotation behind defensive ends Charles Grant and Will Smith. But he was not able to practice much in New Orleans and did not dress for the Saints' game Sunday at Cleveland.Read more

Rogers, who arrived in South Florida on Monday night, was released Sept. '2, three years after he was the second overall pick in the 2003 draft.Read more

Eagles HC Andy Reid, however, expressed concern Sunday over the amount of time RB Brian Westbrook spent on the field against the Texans both on offense and returning punts in place of CB Lito Sheppard and Mahe, who did practice yesterday.Read more
