Denver Broncos 01/12/2009 12:55 PMESPN.com reports the Denver Broncos reached agreement with New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Sunday night to make him their new head coach. ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen first reported the hiring, which was confirmed by team spokesman Patrick Smyth. The team has called a 7 p.m. ET news conference. McDaniels, 32, replaces Mike Shanahan, who was fired Dec. 30 after 14 years on the job. The team is expected to announce the deal on Monday.Read more

After getting knocked out of the playoffs, they might be ready to bring him back. "If everything goes all right, yeah," Giants general manager Jerry Reese said on Sunday, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. Burress caught the Super Bowl-winning touchdown for the Giants last season but was suspended in November after accidentally shooting himself at a nightclub. A second-team All-Big Ten selection this season, Wells ranks fourth on Ohio State's career rushing list (3,382 yards). He's widely projected to be one of the first two running backs selected in Aprils draft, along with Georgia's Knowshon Moreno, who declared Wednesday. "I want to thank my teammates, my coaches, my teachers and the academic advisors for all they have done, and I definitely want to thank the Buckeye fans for all their support, Wells said in a statement. Ohio State has become like a family to me, and it will always be that way.
