Kicker position being evaluated

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Falcons HC Jim Mora said Monday that the team is still reviewing options at the field goal kicker position. K Michael Koenen, who won the job by making 8 of 8 attempts in the exhibition season, has missed 6 of 8 in the two regular-season games. "There is obvious concern with the kicking game, with the field goal kicking game," Mora said. "That is something that we are evaluating. We have not made any decisions one way or another." Koenen is also the Falcons' punter and kickoff specialist. The three jobs may be too much for the second-year player. Read more

Injury claims another Dolphins guard

The Palm Beach Post reports the Dolphins' revolving door at right guard will continue after HC Nick Saban said Monday that starter Bennie Anderson is out indefinitely with a tear in his left triceps. Anderson had an MRI Monday and will have surgery today according to his agent Harold Lewis. He could be out for the season. Read more

Pollack out for the season

The Dayton Daily News reports Cincinnati Bengals outside LB David Pollack was placed on the Injured Reserve list Monday with a severe neck injury, ending his season. But HC Marvin Lewis said Pollack has no paralysis and could return to action as early as the 2007 season. Read more

Roethlisberger questionable for Sunday’s game

The Post-Gazette reports while S Troy Polamalu and TE Jerame Tuman (hamstring) were elevated to probable, QB Ben Roethlisberger (appendectomy) is listed as questionable. Asked whether Roethlisberger's status could linger into a game-time decision, HC Bill Cowher said, "It appears there is a good chance that could be the case." But if practice is an accurate gauge, Roethlisberger should be the starter against the Jaguars. Read more
