Falcons looking to hogtie Bush

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Falcons are hoping they can contain Saints rookie RB Reggie Bush when he runs the ball. He has been most effective catching passes. His 15 receptions lead the team. Bush has 21 carries for 72 yards, for an average of 3.4 yards per carry. "We take the same approach to any back," Falcons LB Michael Boley said. "Hit them before they get going. You have to get at them early, set the tone and let them know how things are going to be." Read more

Daniels may return Sunday

The Palm Beach Post reports CB Travis Daniels is optimistic that he will be ready to play against Tennessee, although Dolphins HC Nick Saban has made no announcement regarding Daniels' status. "There's a real good chance that I'll be out there this Sunday," said Daniels, who has been out since Aug. 2 with a sprained right ankle. Daniels, whose place in the starting lineup has been filled by veteran Andre' Goodman, said he was encouraged because he was able to lift himself off the ground with only his right foot planted. "I don't think it's going to affect me," Daniels said. "I'm feeling really good pushing off and exploding off cuts and breaks." Read more

Smith returns

The Charlotte Observer reports Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith returned to practice Thursday for the first time since pulling a hamstring Sept. 5 "It feels good; it feels better than what it has before," Smith said. "I'm getting (toward) 100 percent." Asked about Smith's practice, HC John Fox said, "You hold your breath, but he looked like he made it through pretty good. He looked good in the things he did on the practice field today. So we'll just see how he looks and feels tomorrow." Read more
