Cleveland Browns 10/26/2006 9:07 AMAP reports a domestic violence case against Cleveland Browns RB Reuben Droughns was dropped Wednesday as prosecutors cited a lack of evidence. Defense attorney Harvey Steinberg said prosecutors apparently concluded their case was too weak. Kathleen Walsh, a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office, in a statement said the case was dropped out of concern "about doing justice when there is not sufficient evidence to proceed."Read more

Atlanta Falcons 10/24/2006 2:46 PMAP reports Atlanta Falcons DE John Abraham will miss three to four weeks following surgery to repair a torn lower abdominal muscle. The Falcons did not release details on the procedure, but said the torn muscle wasn't related to the groin injury that has limited the oft-injured three-time Pro Bowler to only two games this season. The announcement came as a surprise because HC Jim Mora said on Oct. 23 that Abraham may be able to play against Cincinnati on Oct. 29.
