It's a 'go' for Roethlisberger

The Post-Gazette reports barring some unforeseen circumstance or a change in his medical condition, QB Ben Roethlisberger will start at quarterback tomorrow against the Oakland Raiders, a week after he was knocked unconscious and had a concussion in Atlanta. Roethlisberger went through a full practice for the second day in a row and has not had any problems passing all the tests necessary to receive medical clearance to play. Read more

Pacman accused of spitting

The Nashville Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans CB Pacman Jones is under investigation for suspicion of misdemeanor assault after a Tennessee State student accused him of spitting in her face at a nightclub early Thursday, according to Metro Police. Jones will be issued a citation today notifying him to appear in court at a date to be determined, police said. Read more

Garrard will start Sunday, source says

The Florida Times-Union reports backup QB David Garrard will start for the Jaguars on Sunday at Philadelphia, replacing injured starter Byron Leftwich, according to a source speaking on the condition of anonymity. Having taken most of the practice repetitions with the first team this week, Garrard said he's "preparing to be the starter," according to his agent, Albert Irby. Read more

Sanders held out of practice

The Indianapolis Star reports S Bob Sanders' return to the Indianapolis Colts' secondary might be delayed. The team's Pro Bowl safety, who has missed the past four games after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, did not practice Friday as expected. Sanders remained "questionable" on the team's injury report, but HC Tony Dungy stopped just short of ruling him out of Sunday's game with the Denver Broncos. Read more
