The Dayton Daily News reports the Cincinnati Bengals are set to entertain probably one of the most electrifying prospects entering this year's NFL draft in Missouri wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. He is scheduled to visit the Bengals April 2-3, and there is a very good chance that the player could make a return visit to Cincinnati on draft day. The Bengals own the sixth overall selection in the 2009 draft and could use the pick to select Maclin, who is worthy of Top 10 consideration. The highly touted receiver would be the ideal replacement for departed T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who will be catching passes in Seattle this season. Read more

The Dayton Daily News reports the Cincinnati Bengals are in the market for a starting center after losing Eric Ghiaciuc to free agency and will likely address the need via the draft. He reminds Bengals personnel a lot of Eric Steinbach with his versatility, but he may be a little nastier. Read more

But the noise is expected to crescendo into a roar as we approach the NFL draft. Cleveland has been the subject of many trade rumors and could make a splash on draft day. Trade or no trade, one thing is certain: The Browns will be looking for playmaker prospects when it comes time to make their selection. The Browns are believed to have their sights set on one playmaker entering the draft, University of Central Florida cornerback Joe Burnett. Why are the Browns interested? They see a lot of Josh Cribbs in him. Read more

UC's Mickens working his way back to dominance

Baltimore Ravens

The Dayton Daily News reports University of Cincinnati and former Wayne High School defensive back Mike Mickens was considered by NFL scouts as a Top 5 cornerback prospect entering this year's draft. However, a lingering knee injury sustained midway through the 2008 season has caused the player's stock to dip and he is now fighting to get back on top. Mickens, a three time All-BIG EAST defender, had surgery in November to repair torn cartilage in his left knee, but was back on the playing field a little more than a month later for the team's Orange Bowl game. Mickens showed his competitive nature by returning to the field, but admittedly rushed back to soon. Read more
