Detroit Lions 11/03/2006 9:22 AMThe Detroit Free Press reports Lions DE James Hall saw a specialist Thursday in Alabama. "Right now it looks like a strain-, sprain-type of shoulder thing," HC Rod Marinelli said. "We'll find out a little bit more tonight." Hall is listed as questionable for Sunday against Atlanta. If he doesn't play, the Lions will be without three of their starting defensive linemen. DT Shaun Rogers is serving the second game of a four-game suspension for using a banned substance, and DT Shaun Cody is out with an injured toe.Read more
Miami Dolphins 11/03/2006 9:19 AMThe Palm Beach Post reports QB Daunte Culpepper already might have taken his last snap this season. The quarterback, who is recovering from knee surgery, could wind up on injured reserve, Dolphins HC Nick Saban said. "I don't have a date, but I do think that is something you may consider," Saban said. "I don't want to shut that door until we feel like it's going to take the season to get (Culpepper's health) back."Read more
Atlanta Falcons 11/03/2006 9:18 AMThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Falcons middle LB Ed Hartwell remains questionable for Sunday's game at Detroit because of discomfort in his surgically repaired knees. HC Jim Mora said Hartwell would be evaluated through the week, and the pain could subside enough for him to play. However, Mora expressed some concern that Hartwell is not at full-strength and that continued wear-and-tear could lead to further problems.Read more
Cincinnati Bengals 11/03/2006 9:17 AMThe Dayton Daily News reports if LB Ahmad Brooks keeps improving, he's going to lock up the Cincinnati Bengals' starting middle linebacker job. The rookie third-round pick in the NFL supplemental draft will likely start his fourth straight game Sunday. Already ranked sixth on the squad in tackles with 34 (23 solos), Brooks learned a valuable lesson while sitting out the first two games and being used sparingly the next two. He hates being on the sidelines. "When I wasn't playing," he said, "it kind of frustrated me and made me more eager to go out there and perform, to help my teammates out. It helped me realize what I had."Read more
