Broken ribs sideline McGahee indefintely

AP reports RB Willis McGahee is out indefinitely with three broken ribs. HC Dick Jauron on Wednesday ruled the running back out at Indianapolis this weekend, adding the player's injury is more severe than initially thought. Jauron said follow-up tests showed McGahee had damaged three ribs in Buffalo's 24-10 win over Green Bay last weekend. Originally, he was diagnosed with one broken rib. Jauron did not say how much time McGahee might miss, and said his return will depend on the healing process and the player's tolerance to play with pain. Read more

Teague breaks ankle again

AP reports the New York Jets have placed OL Trey Teague on injured reserve after he broke his left ankle for the second time in five months Nov. 6. He hadn't played in any games this season after signing with the Jets as a free agent in April. Teague, who split his first eight NFL seasons with Denver and Buffalo, broke his ankle early in training camp but started to show signs of being close to playing. Read more

Toomer to miss remainder of season

AP reports New York Giants all-time leading WR Amani Toomer will miss the rest of the season because of an injured left knee. Toomer, the team's co-leader with 32 catches this year, felt pain in his knee on Sunday and came to the sideline briefly in the 14-10 win over Houston. He later returned and finished the game. An MRI exam Monday night showed Toomer had a partial tear of his anterior cruciate ligament. He has elected to have season-ending surgery, but did not specify when that would take place. Read more
