No Green at practice

The Kansas City Star reports QB Trent Green missed practice Thursday. HC Herm Edwards said Green was undergoing tests to determine whether he would be allowed to practice and play under full contact. Green indicated Wednesday that he probably wouldn’t receive that permission until next week. Edwards said Green wouldn’t play Sunday against the Dolphins in Miami but would again suit up and serve as the third quarterback. Read more

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports no other quarterback in the NFL -- not Peyton Manning, not Donovan McNabb, not Tom Brady -- is riding a streak like the Rams' QB Marc Bulger has cobbled together. After so-so performances in the first two games of the season, Bulger has clicked into a higher gear. Make that a ridiculously higher gear. In the last six games, Bulger connected on 67.1 percent of his passes, averaged 316.3 yards per outing, and threw for 12 touchdowns, with just one interception. Read more

Berrian not expected to play Sunday

The Chicago Sun-Times reports Bears WR Bernard Berrian looked like a different man Thursday and said he feels leaps and bounds better. Berrian has bruised cartilage in his ribs, but after barely moving earlier in the week, he was getting around the locker room fine, and a source said he might be upgraded from doubtful on the injury report today. While he is not expected to play Sunday at the New York Giants, it's a good sign for an offense that doesn't have a true deep threat without him. Read more

Sanders misses practice

The Indianapolis Star reports soreness in his right knee forced S Bob Sanders to miss a second straight practice Thursday. Even if he doesn't practice today, he might play against Buffalo. Last week, the team's Pro Bowl safety played against New England even though he practiced only one day. He finished with 10 tackles and one interception. The routine of Sanders not practicing but playing isn't ideal, said HC Tony Dungy. Read more
