Dallas Cowboys 11/11/2006 10:09 AMThe Star-Telegram reports Cowboys WR Terry Glenn practiced briefly Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday with a lingering right knee injury. Glenn is listed as probable on the injury report for Sunday's game against Arizona but said it will be a game-time decision. He has chondromalacia, a roughening of the cartilage under his kneecap, and said he has trouble cutting. Glenn had three catches for 26 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown, against Washington last week after getting a shot to numb the pain before the game. He said he will likely have to do the same in order to play against the Cardinals.Read more
Chicago Bears 11/11/2006 10:07 AMThe Chicago Sun-Times reports LB Brian Urlacher returned to the middle of the Bears' defense at practice Friday as they finished preparation for their biggest test of the season to date at the New York Giants on Sunday night. With critics saying the Bears are 7-1 in part because of a soft schedule, the Giants (6-2) will provide a good measuring stick even if they are beset by injuries. The Bears' next five opponents are .500 or better, so they will finally be able to say that they have faced quality competition, and the sprained left big toe Urlacher suffered last Sunday against Miami does not figure to get in the way.Read more
Pittsburgh Steelers 11/11/2006 9:57 AMThe Post-Gazette reports when they went after CB Ike Taylor, members of the secondary came to his defense. When missiles were directed at their fellow cornerback, they floated to his side and offered help. When he was isolated and unable to defend what was happening, they came to his rescue and batted away the criticism. Too bad the Steelers' defense doesn't work that way. It remains to be seen what, if anything, HC Bill Cowher will do tomorrow when the Steelers (2-6) try to stop a three-game losing streak against the New Orleans Saints (6-2) at Heinz Field.Read more
Indianapolis Colts 11/11/2006 9:55 AMThe Indianapolis Star reports Pro Bowl S Bob Sanders was one of the players held out of Friday's practice. As was the case prior to the New England game, his status likely will be determined during pregame warm-ups. "What we talked about is if he's feeling good and ready to go and running well . . . then he'll go,'' HC Tony Dungy said.Read more
