Detroit Lions 11/15/2006 9:00 AMThe Detroit Free Press reports the Detroit Lions assistant coach accused of driving nude and drunk in separate incidents in Dearborn will likely reach a plea deal if he completes a treatment program. The Free Press also has learned of previously undisclosed run-ins with the law for Joe Cullen, 38, prior to his two arrests last summer in Dearborn. On Tuesday, Dearborn District Judge William Hultgren adjourned Cullen's cases until Feb. 6. The judge said he likely will accept an unspecified plea agreement if the defensive line coach, who lives in Dearborn, stays out of trouble.Read more
San Francisco 49ers 11/15/2006 8:53 AMThe Sacramento Bee reports 49ers HC Mike Nolan said RB Frank Gore, who rushed for a career-high 159 yards on 22 carries against the Lions, including a franchise-record 148 in the first half highlighted by a 61-yard touchdown burst, felt better on the flight home after being knocked out of the game with a mild concussion late in the third quarter. Fifth in the league with 831 rushing yards, the injury to the second-year running back appeared to be the team's only one of significance, although Nolan sounded confident Gore would play Sunday. Nolan also said TE Vernon Davis, the team's first pick in this year's draft, was hard at work on the treadmill Monday in hopes of returning to play for the first time since fracturing a leg against Philadelphia in Week 3.Read more
