Droughns, who wore a protective boot this week, injured his foot in last week's 17-13 win over Atlanta. His playing status will be determined Sunday morning. Kansas City Chiefs 11/17/2006 10:42 AMThe Kansas City Star reports after declaring on Monday that TE Tony Gonzalez wouldnât play Sunday against the Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium, HC Herm Edwards backed off slightly, saying there is a slim chance. At that, Gonzalez would have a minor role. But Gonzalez didnât practice again Thursday, and Edwards didnât hold out much hope. âIf we do that, weâre going to have to sit somebody else down,â Edwards said. âIf he gets nicked, then all of a sudden heâs down and youâve lost two guys. Houston Texans 11/17/2006 10:40 AMThe Houston Chronicle reports DE Mario Williams was held out of practice for the second consecutive day because of his plantar fasciaitis. HC Gary Kubiak said Williams will play Sunday, though. Williams has played the last three games with plantar fasciaitis. QB David Carr participated in a complete practice on Thursday, and Kubiak said the shoulder contusion that forced Carr out of last week's game didn't seem to hinder him. A cornerback who had been on Tampa Bay's practice squad, Byrum could be called on to play right away. Starting CB Ken Lucas was downgraded from probable to questionable with a thigh injury and was held out of practice Thursday.Read more
