They sputtered at times on offense. The defense gave up a 97-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. The Lions (2-8), hardly top-flight competition, played most of the game without star RB Kevin Jones, who suffered a sprained ankle in the first quarter. But it was a victory, one that snapped an eight-game losing streak and kept the Cardinals (2-8) from their worst start since 1953 when they went 1-10-1.Read more

For the NFC South showdown with New Orleans on Sunday at the Georgia Dome, HC Jim Mora hopes to have OG Matt Lehr, LB Ed Hartwell, CB Jimmy Williams and possibly, even DE John Abraham, back on the field. "John is the one that I'm least convinced of right now," Mora said. "I want to make sure that he's OK. That would give us a little boost that we need here as we enter the stretch run."Read more
