Rams sign Little through 2009

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Sunday wasn't a total waste for the Rams. They did get DE Leonard Little under contract for three more seasons. Little agreed to a three-year extension, which keeps him under contract through the 2009 season. Details weren't immediately available, but the extension is believed to be worth more than $19 million. Read more

No Hasselbeck again

The Seattle Times reports the Seahawks chose to make QB Matt Hasselbeck inactive Sunday, though Hasselbeck must have had the 49ers guessing as he did some dropbacks and rollouts and threw passes on the field less than an hour before kickoff. Hasselbeck missed his fourth consecutive game as he continues his comeback from a sprained right knee ligament. Hasselbeck was in uniform as the Seahawks' emergency third quarterback, but would only have played if starter Seneca Wallace and backup QB David Greene would have been lost for the game with injuries. Gallery and Jordan hurt

The Contra Costa Times reports the Raiders lost another game Sunday afternoon against the Kansas City Chiefs. In the process, they lost left OT Robert Gallery and RB LaMont Jordan for an extended time. Gallery sustained a dislocated left elbow midway through the third quarter, on a play in which he and right offensive tackle Langston Walker ran into each other while blocking on a pass play. Walker hurt his right ankle on the same play but returned to the game after missing four plays. Read more

The Contra Costa Times reports WR Jerry Rice, the 49ers' greatest record setter, got his emotional and star-studded farewell ceremony Sunday. RB Frank Gore, the 49ers' newest record setter, got a game ball for his franchise-best 212-yard rushing effort. As for the 49ers, they got their third straight win, a 20-14 home triumph over the team they're trying to unseat in the NFC West, the Seattle Seahawks. "I'm happy about getting the record," Gore said, "but I just want to win games. As long as we keep winning games, I could have 50 or 60 yards." Read more
