Dallas Cowboys 11/24/2006 7:45 AMThe Star-Telegram reports RB Marion Barber makes his best appearances when the Cowboys are close to the goal line. He was there again Thursday, although scoring in a somewhat different manner. Barber caught two touchdown passes, his first of the season, in the Cowboys' 38-10 victory over Tampa Bay. Barber usually doesn't end up with many rushing yards, but he had a season highs of 16 carries and 83 yards Thursday.Read more
Cleveland Browns 11/24/2006 7:42 AMThe Dayton Daily News reports they must contend with Cincinnati's multi-faceted â and rolling â offense Sunday, but it would help if the Cleveland Browns actually could stop the run a little more consistently. They held Willie Parker to 46 yards on 16 carries in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but then had no answer for QB Ben Roethlisberger as he made play after play in the fourth quarter. "You can say we improved (against the run), but the numbers go against that overall when you look at the big picture," HC Romeo Crennel said. He's right. The Browns rank 28th against the run, giving up an average of 137 yards per game and 4.8 yards per carry. "The run defense was kind of like the game last Sunday," Crennel said. "We held them down for three quarters and then they break out in one quarter."Read more
Cincinnati Bengals 11/24/2006 7:40 AMThe Dayton Daily News reports Bengals RB Rudi Johnson doesn't own the Browns. It just seems that way. He certainly has Cleveland's number. It's 160.5. That's how many rushing yards Johnson has averaged the past four meetings â all Bengals' victories â helping Cincinnati tie the "Battle of Ohio" series at 33-33. The deadlock gets broken at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sunday. Why all the success? "I don't know," Johnson said. "That's something I can't answer. All I know is that I've got to find different ways to keep my body fresh down the stretch â during practice, after practice, before practice, on the field and off the field. "I try to get the proper rest, keep from getting sick, and I come in to the training room to get treatment for my bumps and bruises. It's going to be a cold and windy day. I've got to make sure I'm ready to go."Read more
