San Francisco 49ers 11/29/2006 1:38 PMThe Contra Costa Times reports X-rays were negative for RB Frank Gore, which was positive news for the 49ers. The running back is expected to play this weekend against the New Orleans Saints. "I'll be ready," Gore said. Gore suffered two bruises on his left leg, one just above his ankle and one just below the knee against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. He suffered both injuries during a late fourth-quarter drive that resulted in a Joe Nedney field goal. Gore underwent X-rays after the game and, as precaution, took another set upon returning to San Francisco on Monday. Gore rushed 21 times for 134 yards against the Rams, giving him at least 100 yards in six games this season. That ties the team record shared by Roger Craig (1988) and Garrison Hearst (1998) with five games to play.Read more
