DE John Abraham and DT Grady Jackson were held out of practice Wednesday, but are expected to return today. "We're in better shape than we've been in a long time," Mora said. In other news, CB Derrick Johnson (broken arm) was placed on injured reserved and S Nick Turnbull was signed to the roster. The Falcons cut FB Kevin Dudley and re-signed S Cam Newton to the practice squad. CB Kevin Hobbs also was added to the practice squad.Read more

Owens was close to Vanderjagt and talked with him after his release Monday. "Obviously, he hasn't played well, but I didn't think that warranted him to be cut," Owens said. Miami Dolphins 11/30/2006 8:41 AMThe Palm Beach Post reports RB Ronnie Brown and left OG Jeno James were ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Dolphins said in their injury report Wednesday. Brown, who had five pins inserted into his broken left hand Friday, had an appointment with doctors Wednesday afternoon to learn more about how long he might be out. The team didn't offer more information, but coach Nick Saban had said recovery might take "a few weeks." There was some hope that James would be able to return Sunday. He had torn cartilage repaired in his right knee Nov. 14. The stitches were removed Monday.Read more
New York Jets 11/30/2006 8:37 AMThe New York Star-Ledger reports two days after saying he'll stick with his three-running back rotation, HC Eric Mangini has downsized the rotation to two. Rookie RB Leon Washington and RB Cedric Houston are in and veteran RB Kevan Barlow is out, a member of the organization told The Star-Ledger yesterday afternoon. That person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of Mangini's policy of not announcing lineup changes. The Jets rushed for a season-low 27 yards on 26 carries in last week's 26-11 victory over the Texans, who put eight men in the box determined to stop the run. Mangini is scrapping his three-back rotation after only two games.Read more
