Houston Texans 11/30/2006 9:00 AMThe Houston Chronicle reports the Texans worked out former Olympic gold medalist Justin Gatlin on Wednesday, but the team is not interested in signing him. In April, Gatlin, 24, was banned from track and field for eight years because he tested positive for a banned substance. Now he is looking to start a football career despite never having played in college. "It's my understanding that he never played football before, but he can run really, really fast," said Texans HC Gary Kubiak, who did not attend the workout. Arizona Cardinals 11/30/2006 8:52 AMThe Arizona Republic reports QB Matt Leinart talks to his college coach, Southern California's Pete Carroll, often, and it wouldn't surprise Leinart if Carroll made the jump to the NFL. "I would never rule out that possibility in the future," Leinart said. "I'm not one to say next year or the year after or whatever, but he's a competitive guy and he wants to win. "What he has at SC is something special, though. He could go down as one of the greatest college coaches ever. I think he already is. We'll see what happens."
