Minnesota Vikings 11/30/2006 9:22 AMThe Pioneer Press reports WR Troy Williamson had nothing to say Wednesday about an early Monday morning incident in which he was punched in the face, but he won't face any discipline from the Vikings. HC Brad Childress, asked if he had spoken to Williamson about the episode, which occurred after the "Sharperpalooza" festival at the Myth nightclub in Maplewood, said, "Yeah, I'm satisfied." Williamson was one of a large number of Vikings players to attend the event, which was sponsored by S Darren Sharper and held to benefit the United Way and Minnesota AIDS project. Sharper said he didn't witness the incident, but Williamson reportedly was punched in the face by a security guard while preparing to leave the club at around the 2 a.m. closing time.Read more
Detroit Lions 11/30/2006 9:18 AMThe Detroit Free Press reports it appears the Lions will be without Pro Bowl DT Shaun Rogers for a sixth straight game Sunday at New England. New York Giants 11/30/2006 9:09 AMThe Star-Ledger reports at one end of the hallway yesterday, the coach was speaking about peace and harmony between his players. At the other end, two of them were engaged in a public feud. Only a few minutes after Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he's trying to pull everybody together and encourage them, WR Plaxico Burress and DE Michael Strahan were seemingly creating a divide. The root of the Burress-Strahan tiff was the Pro Bowl end's weekly interview on WFAN three days ago, when he questioned Burress' effort during the team's loss to the Titans on Sunday and at other times when he's stopped running before the play is over. Yesterday, Burress fired back by saying, "If that's the way he feels, that's sad."Read more
Indianapolis Colts 11/30/2006 9:06 AMThe Indianapolis Star reports the Colts ended one injured player's season Wednesday but are hopeful another will return. DT Montae Reagor, who started the first five games but has been out since sustaining head injuries in an auto accident Oct. 22, was put on the reserve-non-football injury list, ending his season. Meanwhile, much uncertainty remains about the right knee of TE Dallas Clark, but he will not immediately be put on the injured-reserve list. "He's not going to play this week," HC Tony Dungy said of Clark, "but it's maybe not season-ending. We just have to monitor it and see how it goes in the next week to 10 days." Clark reportedly told teammates after Sunday's game against Philadelphia that he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. But Dungy said a magnetic resonance imaging test "was really encouraging."Read more
