Sams (fractured ankle), FB Justin Green (ACL tear) and DT Justin Bannan (dislocated toe) on injured reserve today after all three players suffered season-ending injuries. To replace the injured players, the Ravens signed LB Tim Johnson and FB Nick Luchey, and promoted DT Atiyyah Ellison from the practice squad. Johnson started the season with the Ravens and was released at the end of training camp. Luchey, an eight-year NFL veteran, was with the Houston Texans at the beginning of the season.Read more

Hardly the usual recipe, but the Cleveland Browns happily accepted it Sunday after K Phil Dawson's 33-yard field sailed true, stunning the playoff-hopeful Kansas City Chiefs, 31-28. "I said last week these guys are competitors and they would bounce back," embattled Browns HC Romeo Crennel said. "That's what they did." With backup QB Derek Anderson directing the team in the second half after Charlie Frye injured his right wrist, the Browns not only overcame the Chiefs but rose above a week's worth of turmoil sparked by a 30-0 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. "It shows the kind of football team we have. When we don't get caught up in everything else, we can play," said WR Braylon Edwards, around whom much of the controversy had swirled following his teammate-trashing sideline tantrum during last week's debacle.Read more
St. Louis Rams 12/02/2006 10:17 AMThe St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports an MRI exam Thursday night disclosed that OG Adam Timmerman has been playing with three cracked ribs. The injury was thought be a bruise, but Timmerman was tested further when the pain persisted. He missed just one play after being kicked in the side Nov. 19 at Carolina, and he started against last week vs. San Francisco. And, yes, he plans to be in the lineup â wearing a light wrap to protect his ribs â Sunday for his 202nd consecutive game.Read more
