Washington Redskins 12/07/2006 9:03 AMThe Washington Post reports Redskins HC Joe Gibbs said yesterday that, after private meetings Monday and Tuesday with WR Brandon Lloyd, his concerns about the wide receiver had been resolved and that Lloyd would play Sunday against Philadelphia. Gibbs said Monday that he had issues with Lloyd that required his attention after an incident late in Sunday's 24-14 loss to Atlanta. Lloyd was flagged for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for throwing his helmet, and Gibbs benched him for the final 2 minutes 40 seconds of the game.Read more

Their final four opponents â Cincinnati, St. Louis, Kansas City and the New York Jets â are in playoff contention, so the Raiders are eager to play spoiler. "We're going down the stretch with teams that are vying to get in line for the playoffs," Raiders HC Art Shell said. "And we can have a say-so in that decision. So it's a great opportunity for us. Miami Dolphins 12/06/2006 5:50 PMThe Palm Beach Post reports DE Jason Taylor was fined $7,500 for his facemask penalty against Lions QB Jon Kitna on Thanksgiving. The fine was first reported by cnnsi.com and confirmed by league spokesman Steve Alic. Taylor was unavailable for comment, but he has never been a fan of the rules protecting quarterbacks."Guys get fined for everything," Taylor said last week. "You sneeze on the quarterback, you darn near get fined. It's ridiculous. They're ruining the game by protecting the quarterbacks the way they are."Read more
