Bears DT may be out for season

AP reports Chicago Bears DT Tommie Harris, who made the Pro Bowl a year ago, could miss the remainder of the season with a severe hamstring injury. Harris left Sunday's game against Minnesota in the third quarter with what was originally announced as a sprained left knee. HC Lovie Smith said Monday the injury was not considered season-ending. The Star-Telegram reports two days after HC Bill Parcells chastised DE Marcus Spears and DE Chris Canty for their poor play, the starting defensive ends were involved in separate fights in practice Wednesday. Parcells downplayed the scuffling, saying it was only a test of manhood. But he said the two players need to focus on responding to his challenge. Brown to miss second game

The Palm Beach Post reports Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown will miss his second consecutive game because of his broken left hand, HC Nick Saban said Wednesday. Saban said Brown must keep the hand immobilized "probably for another week or so." Brown was hoping to be cleared to face New England on Sunday. Instead, doctors fitted him with a new hard cast to give the five screws in his hand more opportunity to settle. Read more
