Cincinnati Bengals 07/23/2010 4:42 PMThe Dayton Daily News reports the Bengals have signed cornerback Brandon Ghee of Wake Forest, one of two Cincinnati third-round selections in the 2010 draft, according to a press release from the team. Ghee (pronounced “JEE”) was the 96th overall selection. Ghee (6-0, 190) was a three-year starter for Wake Forest teams that reached two bowl games. He rated as one of the fastest and most athletic cornerbacks of the 2009 college crop and had a 4.39 clocking in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.Read more
Oakland Raiders 07/06/2010 9:41 AMAP reports former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell has been charged with possession of a controlled substance -- codeine syrup -- after being arrested at his home in Alabama on Monday, authorities said. The 24-year-old former LSU star and the No. 1 draft choice in 2007 was arrested as part of an undercover narcotics investigation, said Mobile County Sheriff's spokeswoman Lori Myles. She would not say what led to his arrest. She said he did not have a prescription for the codeine.Read more

His stay could be made permanent with a new contract, which appears to be on the horizon. Representatives for Benson have approached Bengals management regarding a contract extension. Oakland Raiders 06/20/2010 9:22 PMAP reports defensive lineman Richard Seymour signed his $12.4 million exclusive franchise tag tender with the Oakland Raiders on Saturday. The move means all of the Raiders' veterans are under contract for next season. The team announced the signing on its website, adding that the process of signing rookies would begin soon. By placing the tag on Seymour in February, the Raiders guaranteed Seymour a salary for next season of at least $12.398 million, which was the average salary earned last year by the five highest-paid defensive ends in the league.Read more
