SeniorBowl.com reports Northern Illinois’ dynamic RB Garrett Wolfe, who leads all Division I ball carriers with 1,900 yards, will bring his talents to the 2007 Under Armour Senior Bowl, officials have announced. Wolfe enjoyed a record-breaking 2006 campaign, as he set a new NCAA record for most yards rushing through the first five games of the season with 1,181 during an amazing senior year in which he accounted for 46 percent of his team’s total offense and half of its touchdowns with 18. Benching Robinson might cost Vikings

The Pioneer Press reports Vikings WR Marcus Robinson wasn't the only one puzzled by his surprise deactivation Sunday against the New York Jets. The NFL is considering whether to impose a fine against the Vikings for not reporting Robinson's hip injury last week, a league spokesman said. "The principal purpose of the injury report is to ensure there are no hidden injuries or clubs hiding that players might not be available," NFL spokesman Randall Liu said. "The league office monitors the injury report each week, and we look into any questions that are raised about it." Read more

Starks faces knee surgery today

The Post-Gazette reports either rookie Willie Colon or second-year player Trai Essex will make his first start at right tackle Sunday against the devouring defense of the Baltimore Ravens. OT Max Starks, who held Carolina pass-rusher Julius Peppers at bay the past Sunday, will miss at least one game and possibly the rest of the regular season with a torn meniscus in his right knee. Moss will return kicks with Ward put on IR

The Star-Ledger reports it's not that the Giants don't want to get rookie WR Sinorice Moss involved. It's just that he's not quite up to speed with the offense because he missed too much time to injury this season.  Well, now the Giants have a perfect excuse to involve Moss by giving him a pretty simple job: kick returner. The team needs a new one after RB Derrick Ward was placed on injured reserve yesterday with a fractured foot. Ward originally broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot midway through training camp. X-rays taken on Monday revealed he re-injured it in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. Read more
