Palmer practices, shows off shoulder

The Dayton Daily News reports after throwing his first pass in warm-ups on Thursday, QB Carson Palmer grabbed his right shoulder. He was just clowning around, having fun. The Bengals quarterback then zipped some passes to fellow quarterbacks Doug Johnson and Anthony Wright, scuttling speculation from an Internet site that he has rotator cuff damage. Palmer said there's nothing wrong with his throwing shoulder, then proved it by working the entire practice. He plans to start his 31st consecutive regular-season game Sunday afternoon at Denver. Lions sign RB Gordon

The Detroit Free Press reports the Lions signed RB Lamar Gordon, DL Langston Moore and OL Clint Stickdorn, whom they re-signed to the practice squad last week. They released RB Anthony Sherrell, the Eastern Michigan product they signed last week. Read more

Brown, Allen questionable; Booker day-to-day

The Palm Beach Post reports Dolphins WR Marty Booker and DT Dan Wilkinson are doubtful for Monday night's game against the New York Jets, and RB Ronnie Brown and CB Will Allen are questionable. Brown has been sidelined since he fractured a bone in left hand against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. He received clearance this week to resume practice, but HC Nick Saban said Brown's status will be determined by how he performs. Read more

Vick's injured groin passes practice test

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Falcons QB Michael Vick tested his groin injury by taking part in most of practice on Wednesday. "It feels good," Vick said. "I just wanted to take a day off and make sure that when I came back to practice that I'd be able to practice at 100 percent and feel good about running on my groin and making sure that I don't do anything to re-injure it and make sure that the pain is gone." Vick expects to play Sunday against Carolina in the regular-season home finale. "I can feel it just a little bit, but it's something that I can tolerate," Vick said. "If I have to go out there and play through it, then I could do it." Read more
