Clemens to start against Ravens on Sunday

NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting that New York Jets QB Kellen Clemens will start Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in place of injured starter Chad Pennington. Pennington injured his ankle while being tackled last Sunday against the New England Patriots. Sunday will be the first career start for Clemens, the second-year backup out of Oregon. Read more

AP reports a pair of high-profile NFL stars who have served one-year suspensions for violating the league's substance abuse policy want to get back in the game. Green Bay Packers WR Koren Robinson and Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams are seeking reinstatement to the NFL after serving their suspensions, according to media reports. Read more

Taylor questionable due to bruised hip

AP reports Minnesota Vikings RB Chester Taylor was listed Friday as questionable for Sunday's game at Detroit, due to a bruised hip that limited his participation in practice all week. Taylor was hurt in the first quarter of the season opener against Atlanta, and rookie RB Adrian Peterson took over. HC Brad Childress said the decision on Taylor's status would not be made until shortly before kickoff against the Lions after coaches and trainers watch him warming up on the field before the game. Hill out indefinitely with back injury

ESPN’s Len Pasquarelli reports the St. Louis Rams have lost starting left CB Tye Hill indefinitely after the second-year player suffered a back injury late in Thursday's practice. The injury, first reported by The NFL Network and confirmed by team officials, apparently occurred when Hill collided with a teammate. It is believed that Hill broke several small bones in his lower back. HC Scott Linehan said Hill was hurt Thursday near the end of practice and will be re-evaluated next week. Read more
