The Kansas City Star reports Chiefs HC Herm Edwards considers himself a patient man. That fact may have helped smooth over RB Larry Johnson’s criticisms of the team and saved QB Damon Huard his starting job. For now. Asked Tuesday whether he’d thought about benching Huard on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings and bringing in QB Brodie Croyle for the second half, Edwards said: “To tell you the truth, yeah. If we kept struggling and we weren’t going to move the ball, yeah. But that’s why it’s a good thing for me I have patience. I’m a pretty patient guy.” Read more

Vick defaults on $2.5M loan from Canadian bank

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports a Canadian bank has filed a federal lawsuit against QB Michael Vick claiming that the Falcons quarterback has defaulted on a $2.5 million line of credit taken out earlier this year. According to the suit, filed last week in the eastern district of Virginia, Vick signed a promissory note payable to the Royal Bank of Canada on Jan. 18, and two days later executed a "borrower acknowledgement" stating that any advances would be for investiment in real estate, and that "such proceeds were not to be used primarily for personal, family or household purposes." Virginia indicts Vick on dogfighting charges

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports QB Michael Vick's legal troubles continued to mount Tuesday as he was indicted on new local charges in Virginia and a $2.5 million lawsuit against the Atlanta Falcons quarterback became public. Vick, already suspended indefinitely by the NFL and awaiting sentencing after a federal plea agreement on felony charges related to dogfighting, now faces two state charges that could mean 10 additional years in prison and further jeopardize his playing career.
