The Palm Beach Post reports QB Trent Green flew home from Texas with the Miami Dolphins late Sunday afternoon. He surely was the only one who considered the trip, and the company, a relative pleasure. The quarterback, after all, might just as well have spent the night in a Houston hospital, foggy and isolated from the concussion that took him out in the first quarter of a game at Reliant Stadium and for 10 excruciating minutes had Green's Miami teammates praying just to see a bit of movement. Cards win game, lose Leinart

The Arizona Republic reports starting QB Matt Leinart suffered a fractured left collarbone when he was sacked by LB Will Witherspoon late in the first half. Leinart will undergo more tests today, but he's expected to miss at least several weeks, if not the rest of the season. Read more

Help could be on the way at LB for Bengals

The Dayton Daily News reports the Cincinnati Bengals depleted linebacker corps could receive a much need jolt with the soon expected return of starting strong-side LB Rashad Jeanty, who has been sidelined with a leg injury. Jeanty is on the mend from a shin injury which required doctors to insert a rod into the leg to stabilize it and help with the healing process. Jeanty's agent, David Canter, said he is cautiously optimistic that his client will get clearance to play next week when the Bengals travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. Read more

Ward to sit out for second straight week

ESPN’s Len Pasquarelli reports Pittsburgh WR Hines Ward will be sidelined for a second straight week on Sunday when the Steelers host the Seattle Seahawks. Ward has previously missed only four games in his career and the two contests that he will have sat out this season equal a career high. Read more
