The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports C Scott Wells, perhaps the most consistent offensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers this season, will miss at least one game and possibly more after suffering a broken eye socket Sunday night against Chicago. Read more

The Palm Beach Post reports if he's like most people who have suffered two severe concussions in 13 months, Dolphins QB Trent Green won't return to the field for quite some time, a leading authority on sports-related concussions said Monday. Dr. Robert Cantu hasn't examined Green but expects him to experience symptoms for several weeks from the concussion he sustained Sunday against Houston. "The fact that he suffered prolonged symptoms the last time and a severe concussion this time doesn't bode well," said Cantu, a Boston neurosurgeon whose concussion grading system is one of the most widely used in medicine. "It wouldn't surprise me at all if it's a repetition of last year." Read more

Browns claim Leonard

The Dayton Daily News reports the Cleveland Browns have claimed DL Louis Leonard via waivers and have waived P Scott Player. Leonard, 6-4 and 330 lbs., was claimed by the Browns via waivers from the St. Louis Rams.  Leonard spent three weeks with the Rams and was inactive for all three contests before being waived by the Rams on Oct. 6, 2007.  Leonard entered the league this season as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Fresno State and originally signed with San Diego.  Leonard was waived at the end of training camp by San Diego and spent one week on the Chargers practice squad. Players livid at Patriots' Vrabel

AP reports the New England Patriots are unbeaten, not unblemished. At least one of them is dirty to Cleveland Browns OG Eric Steinbach. Irritated over what he thought was a cheap shot in the closing seconds of Sunday's 34-17 loss, Steinbach called Patriots LB Mike Vrabel "classless" on Monday. Steinbach felt Vrabel purposely dived at the knees of rookie OT Joe Thomas' legs with 11 seconds remaining on a play that was stopped when Browns quarterback Derek Anderson spiked the ball. Read more
