Vikings Taylor, James fight in locker room

ESPN.com reports two members of the Minnesota Vikings got into a locker room scuffle Wednesday that featured a thrown chair, according to Twin Cities-area media reports. According to reports in the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press, HC Brad Childress called a team meeting Wednesday after defensive end Erasmus James and RB Chester Taylor briefly squared off in the locker room after practice. James reportedly threw a punch that landed near Taylor's right eye, and Taylor retaliated by throwing a chair. But when the chair accidentally hit left OT Bryant McKinnie -- a friend of Taylor -- that brought an end to the incident, according to reports on the scuffle. Read more

Boldin working hard to get back

The Arizona Republic reports WR Anquan Boldin didn't practice Wednesday but went through a rigorous workout and ran with his teammates. Boldin, who has a muscle injury near his hip, has missed two games. It's possible he could try to practice today. Read more

Green to return

The Houston Chronicle reports RB Ahman Green wouldn't say he's 100 percent healthy, but he did admit his bruised knee has healed enough for him to play Sunday. Green hopes he can boost a running game that has struggled significantly in the three weeks he has been out. The Texans have averaged just 67 rushing yards in those three games, losing twice. Johnson runs, but still out

The Houston Chronicle reports WR Andre Johnson, who has missed the last three games with a knee injury, was able to run on the practice field for the first time Wednesday. "That's the first time I've run gassers on the field," Johnson said. "I didn't change direction much." Johnson hopes to return in time to play in the Tennessee game on Oct. 21. Read more
