AP reports Titans QB Vince Young threw a little Thursday but remained sidelined during practice by his strained right quadriceps muscle. "He didn't run around and didn't test the leg out, but he threw the ball," coach Jeff Fisher said. "He's improving. The treatment procedures and everything are helping out. We'll see how he is tomorrow. There's a chance he could practice tomorrow. We just have to wait and see." Read more

Knee surgery to keep Walker out for 'a few weeks'

AP reports Denver Broncos WR Javon Walker needs another surgery on his right knee, the one he tore up in the 2005 opener for Green Bay that caused him to miss the entire season. Walker will have an operation Friday in Houston and will be out "for a few weeks," HC Mike Shanahan said Thursday. Read more

The Dayton Daily News reports Bengals outside LB Rashad Jeanty, who practiced for the first time since undergoing surgery on his shin Aug. 31, is preparing to play. "Good to be back in shoulder pads," he said. "I'm improving a lot. Whatever they ask, I will be ready. I'm sure the guys are glad to see a guy coming in and help the depth. I'm kind of easing in on everything. The biggest thing is trying to get back. It's looking good." Read more
