Alexander out for season

The Denver Post reports another popular Broncos veteran has left the locker room. TE Stephen Alexander was placed on injured reserve Thursday, a transaction that not only ends his season but most likely ends his 10-year NFL career. "Honestly, I don't plan on playing anymore," Alexander said. "If this is the end, which it more than likely will be, I'm totally fine with it." Read more

Walker to miss more time

The Denver Post reports one day, Broncos WR Javon Walker says the team needs to throw him the ball and the best way he can get this accomplished is to get at the coaches.  The next day, the biggest of Broncos coaches, Mike Shanahan, says Walker is going to have surgery in Houston today on his right knee and will be out another four weeks. In other words, Walker can talk the talk, but it will be awhile before he can walk the walk. Read more

For Boldin, it's 'full go' at practice

The Arizona Republic reports WR Anquan Boldin returned to practice after missing the past three games because of a hip injury. Boldin participated in the entire practice and felt good afterward. Read more

Jones, Wynn among standouts

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports WR James Jones is the second-ranked receiver in the National Football League. RB DeShawn Wynn and RB Brandon Jackson are ranked third and sixth, respectively, among the running backs. . . . That is, among all rookies. For the second straight year, the Green Bay Packers are the youngest team in the league and its rookie class measures up fairly well with other first-year players. If these numbers hold up, it could be a solid indication of what lies ahead. Read more
