S Tank Williams expected to start Sunday

With starting S Dwight Smith out of Sunday's game at Dallas, the Vikings hope veterans Tank Williams and Mike Doss can step up against the Cowboys' second-ranked offense. HC Brad Childress said both would play, but Williams is expected to start, his first start since the final game of the 2005 season with Tennessee. Read more

The defensive tackle officially began to practice and work with his teammates and coaches Friday, one day after it was announced his suspension would not be cut but that he could practice. Read more

Wilson's hits keep coming for Cards

10/20/2007 8:35 AM The Arizona Republic reports twice in the past four games, Cardinals SS Adrian Wilson has drawn penalties for unnecessary roughness for blasting receivers, and each violation played a big role in the Cardinals losing those games. Such violations often prompt fines from the NFL offices, but Wilson's paycheck remained untouched in both cases. That seems to suggest that the NFL is tacitly saying those hits were within the rules. A league spokesman, however, said that's not the case because not every penalty warrants a fine. Read more
